OUT OF A VERY BIG HOLE & STANDING ON A HILL

Well since I did my last blog entry36 hrs ago I have gone to the gym sleeped and potted. In that order I reckon my last 36 hours breaks down, gym 6hrs, sleeping 8hrs, potting 20hrs and misc 2hrs. Woke up yesterday did my blog, then did $8,5k playing really badly. Hit the gym came back did $3k more. So now I am $11.5k behind and on a $21.5k downswing. The last $5k was the softest I have given away all year. Was going to hit the hay when I decide to have one more session before the closing bell. Got $5k back to end the day down down $6.5k.

Decided I hit the gym first this morning clear my head. By 2 p.m I was bac on the machine. Decide to grind 3/6 on gpj as the games were good. In a 7 hr period I won $7k on the 2 tables, but did money on cake. Put $13k in and had it as low as $3k. Got it bac to $7k then went for a bit of 5 aside. Came back and won $14.5k on cake and $1k on gjp. So from being behind $16.5k for the week I am now $7.5k ahead or so. Fairly burn out but will go hard at it again 2mor as am taken the weekend semi off as goin to Galway with the lads(obv I made sure the we got a hotel with wireless). Had planned on playing the WSOP game there on Friday night but wont now as a night out cant come quick enough.

10k swing, but in the bad way

Played a load yesterday, 5/10 10/20 25/50 plo. Hovered around winning $2k losing $2k all day and went into my evening session level. Setup my cake acc and was playing away there last night all so. Anyway up about $1,5 and was about to hit the hay(4a.m ish), when I got a tug on my line. I was sitting in the 10/20 on gpj on my own and some fish decided to give me their custom. Quickly stacked him for $2k when I got dealt aakk but only 1 suit, not to worry K hi flop. He leaves and another fish insto takes his place. Get $1k off him and I am now winning about $5k. He reloads for $2k and I am thinking lovely take this $2k and go to bed plus $7k. Anyway 40 mins later I have lost the $6k, $5k, $5k and a few $2k to shorties who have joined the table and am losin $5k for the day. At this stage the table has filled up and its a very fishy line up, but I just had to go to bed I was losing it mentally and feared tilt might not be soon off. Although I lost $5k I was very happy with how I played and managed not to tilt dispite losin 5 fairly big pots in a row never being less than 40% when the money went in and usually being a 60% or more favourite. I am playen at a higher level in the last few weeks and these kind of swings are common at this level. They still make me fill ill when they happen.

Blame Lacey

Havnt updated in a good while because Lacey fecked up something with the blog and I could not put up any updates. Anyway the holdem went badly 2 weeks ago and was down about $6k from it, so had to jump in to some 25/50 plo on Sunday night and get $5k back to end the week down $1k. Last week was very good. Played 5/10 10/20 and 25/50 plo all week. Only had 1 losing day 5 winning and 1 break even. This left me $17k ahead or so, all so got €1k out of sports. The hlh game in the sports in turning into a really good game. Last Thursday the avg stack was €1500 by the end of the night. Another week of grinding this week. Am in Galway next weekend for the long weekend, so might play the wsop satty there.

No Limit Holdem Meh

Well still hamering away at the holdem playen 3/6 and 5/10. Got out of my hole but quickly got back in to it. Doin $3k in it the holdem for the week. Defo playen much better now than I was at the start. Think I will make a return to omaha tonight. Also planning on puttin some time in, in the emporioum this weekend. Will play there €500 game on Saturday and hope to get in for some cash action tonight and maybe Friday aswel.

Not much to say

Gone back playen nlh as am a bit bored of plo and need a break. Playen 3/6 and 5/10 nlh and am down about $3k for the last 2 days. I am paying off way too much on the river. Its good to sharpen up my all around holdem game before vegas as online is a much stiffer test than the cash games in the sports. I had $6k in the acc at the start of the week, down to over $3k at the mo but it will be over $10k by Sunday from nlh.
I have booked Vegas and plan to arrive on the 10th of june and am planning to play the round of each on the 12th.

WSOP Satties

Just played the ftp and stars wsop satties last night.Was goin very well in ftp and was never outside the top 10 with 9 tickets from the start. 3K starting stack, was up to 26k with 50 left when I lost 2 flips back to back. Lost with ak suity to 33 for 20k pot and then 10k pot with a8 v 22. If I win the the first flip i am 4/6 to scoop a package. Stars got done with aa v ak off suit. I knew I was toast when there was 2 hearts on the flop. Standard beat really on stars. Obv running hearts. Back to grinding today, might play holdem for a change.

Good sports in the Emporium

Went back into the sports last night. Going grand up a few 100 when another classic live hand develops. I raise button to €30 with kq after a limper, bb who I know well raises to €120, limper (fish) calls. I know bb has a premium hand, jj and up. I am about to fold but decided to take a flop I am gettin 3/1 on my money prers and there both playen €800 behind. I will be last to act on the flop so I will re asses my position then. Flop qq3 rainbow, oh lordy. Initial raiser leads for €300 (ty), limper calls. I just decide to flat call, hopeing bb might lead again for his last €500 with his over pair but to be fair I know he's better than that, but may aswel give the lad a chance. I assume the fish has a q and I have him out kicked so the money is goin in on the turn regardless.
Turn is a 6 bb checks, fish shoves for €400 I call and bb folds AA. I ask him does he have a q, nope, 33?. Are you mad. He proudly flips over 75 off for the turned gutter. I am in disbelief and just go oh the gutter. Hes like yep as if he has me pretty much drawin dead. I suprisingly hold. Its pretty sick he turns outs as he obv shoving anyway. I'd love to hear his taught process for the hand afterwards. Obv I got lucky in the hand to get infront of the AA.

Playing awfully

Played yesterday for about 4 hours straight. Was winning $4.5k at one stage in the session. Took a shot at 25/50 only buying in for $1200 got done on a 5 outer for the $3k pot reloaded for another $1200 and got it up to $3k which was a result given the beat I took. Mid way through the session I started to play like a complete donk and turned $4,5k stack in the 5/10 in to zero which was sick enough. Got out winning $1k. Hit the gym came back and played for 30 mins before I headed out. Played 2 10/20 tables did $2,5k so ended up losing $1.5k after being up $4.5k.
I played badly as a result of playing too much. So I am taking today off online prob play live tonight.Obv have to re visit the sports after Thursday nights antic's. Then back online for the Sunday tourneys.

It could have been worse

Started off yesterday 2 tabling 25/50 buying in to both for $3k as there was a massive fish in the game. Got out level after he left. Then went down to 5/10 and proceed to do my conkers. Think I did 6 $1k buyins in 5/10 through the course of the day. I'd be lieing if I said I was happy with how I played. In any case I decide to leave online alone for the night after losing $6k and went into the Sporting Emporium to try grind back some of the loses.
Started of playen the 1/2 plh game, was winning a few €100 but the really value is in the no limit game. It was a great line up but not a huge amount of cash on the table. One of the fish goes down stairs to play roullete, his main reason was to get some more booze which is only served on the gaming floor. He returns 20 mins later with €1600. He put €100 on black taught he lost so left to play blackjack, returns 5 mins later and puts another €100 on black and the dealer asks his does he want to let his €1600 ride again. He actually won the first spin and didnt collect so his money had been riding, and black goes on to win 3 more times. He returns to the gaming floor delighted with himself. He and 6 mates had traveled up from Kildare for the game. He quickly puts the €1600 on the table to make his stack €1800. I quickly peel off a monkey note from my back pocket to cover him. The next 10 mins involves him fireing his chip about, out draws me in one hand but then tries a terrible bluff in another which I obv call. Then this happens. Its €5 to go, its made €20 by a good player, I am on the button and look down at the ladies (qq) I pop it to €75. Call by the roullete king and raiser. Flop 932 2 spades. Roullete king open shoves for €1800 into €230 Lolers. Other player folds, I think for a min and then call. j9 no fd, for him and I hold. Ship it. Got out win €2,050 which goes some way to covering my online loses.

Swinging higher

Had a very swingy session yesterday but that was to be expected given the limits I played. I played everything from 2/4 to 25/50 but mostly 1o/20 and 25/50 where I had some nice results. 25/50 is a really tough game to beat but if you can the rewards are huge. There are a lot of fish on ipoker who play 25/50 but its hard to get more than 1 or 2 of them in a game. Yesterday on 3 occasions I got 3 of them in a 25/50 game. The first time I won $5.5k, second time I broke even and the third I broke even. The third was by far the best game. At this stage I was up $11.5k for the day so I decided to jump in. Couldn't win a pot and found myself down $8k through playing perfect and just getting no luck. Feeling the game was good I reload to $3k, if I lost that I woulda gone from $11.5k winning day to up $500. Any way about 30 mins later I turned that $3k in to $11,150 and left the game with a $150 profit.
I feel I making some small head way on my goal to become a comfortable winning 25/50 player. I still find it sick paying $800 odd to see a flop with the bag but I am now doing it which you have to. Game selection will be very important as the top names at 25/50 would have off me.
Having quite the week so far a wsop ticket would really top it off.

Grinding

Played a fair bit yesterday as promised. Played from 2/4 to 10/20 in plo cash, all so played 5 tournies on gjp. Won about $1800 in cash. Invested about $800 in tournies, no good in 4 but did manage to win an ECOOP ticket which are worth $1500, so showed $700 profit from tournies. Playing as we speak but will be taken it easy today. Prob head out so no evening session.

Bouncing back

Well the intentions for this week were to grind small and recover some of the loses from last week. Gettin half back would be a result. So I decided to grind the smaller games, lower variance and much higher chance of comeing out on Sunday with a green figure for the week. Put in a fair few hours yesterday in 2/4 3/6 and 5/10 plo on Green Joker Poker (ipoker). I hit cards, held and got lucky, all which are required to win $10k at these levels. It was nice to get nearly all of last week loses back in one go. The same grinding lies in store today.
In other news well done to Gary on picking up a WSOP package. I am baffled by ppl's opinions on boards regarding online ettequette. It would certainly be the norm and not the exception that I would have other players around me when playing online. You tilt much less and it always nice to get a second opinion.

3 outers

Spent about $2k on tournies last night. No good in any, despite getting my money in good nearly everytime. A few time a cruel 3 outers fell. The wrost was in a $2k step 6 on stars all in with ak v a2. Ah yeh 2 on river. Think I did close to $13k online this week, not good. A week of grinding in store this week.
Well done to reesy who won a wsop ticket on Green Joker Poker last nite.
Depressing to be back to Irish weather.

Playing good running bad

Well played the 2k event yesterday. Everytime I see Italians play it amazes me how bad they play. I lost an 8k pot to one with ak v j9 allin pre, obv jjx flop. I was down to 15k odd when I raise with j10 suited puppy feet (clubs) I get rr by lagy player in cut off. I call, flop q 10 2 rainbow I check raise his 2,500 bet allin for 12k, he calls with ak(which is the hand I put him on), blank turn, j on river for yet another beat. I am playen so well in these tournies and making sick calls for all my stack and then just gettin done.
Came home and had a nap, got up and booted up the machine. Playen pretty well and am up over $4k before I know it and down $1k online for the trip. All my games break so I decide to take a shot at a soft 25/50 game. Lose a $9k allin 3 way pot with a set, all of us were 33% give or take. Relaod for $4k and do that. In the space of an hour end up doing $9k through no fault of my own.
As we stand I am down $10k online for the trip.
Up €3,5k in live cash.
Down €3k in tournies entry as I played the €2k+200 and and am playing the €700+70 today.
Reesy was sickend badly in the tourney aswel, but he is doing v well online at the mo. Some Italian raises his 600 bet to allin for 20k which reesy calls with aq and your man tables 62 off, obv 6 flops. Ah yeah quite normal.

€2k event today

Played live and online yesterday. Played the best I have played all year live and won €1,100, but for some reason played the worst I have played all year online and lost about $1,5. So I wont be playing online today. I feel I am due a run in a tourney or at least a day 2.

Quick update

I did spend an hour on my whole EPT expirence, but the Internet is dodge here and it didnt submit it. It was painful ennough the first time so there wont be a second time. The bottom line is I was out after 3.30 mins after playing 7.5/10.
The trip so far sees me down $3k online, up €2.5k live.
Might play a €500 event today, but am already regged for the €2k event 2mor.
Playing loads online and put in a decent live session. Games are unreal but rake is 2.5% uncapped which makes them hard to be very good.
Weather is nice so trying to escape from the hotel room/casino but it is proving hard than I first taught.

EPT Debute

Less than an hour to my first EPT. San Remo is a real nice place and the weather is quality. Played some online last night online with Reesy in the room. He cleaned up and I broke level while playing quite bad.(Bad beat some guy in a $4k pot) Going to go back to 2/4 3/6 plo till I am happy with my game.
Went for a run and gym session with Reesy this morning and then a swim. My head is clear and I am fully focused for this event. Be back in a few hours to fill you in on the sick beat.
